Slogan- The Smart Money’s On Yaris

 

Narrative- The advert starts with 2 cars that have been put next to each other outside a coffee shop, with a man selling ice-cream. The animated rapper introduces the two cars and compares both cars. The new car was shown to be nicely presented to help it stand out against the old out of date car. This is to show the new upgraded car and how it has new feature to the car. The animated rapper raps about all the new features and how they are easy, quick and convenient. The rapper also does a comparison of both car to empathise how much better the new car is and how it has changed.

 

Animation- As rap music is known as ‘cool’ in the world today, it has been used to make it as if that if you have the car then you are ‘cool’ too. The advert has variety of real life people and also animated people (the rapper) this has been done to draw in viewers as it makes the advert more interesting. Also animation of gadgets in the old man’s car is shown but they don’t work properly. This shows he needs a new car.  This shows contrast with the new technologies in the new up to date trendy car.

 

Props- A puppet has been used in the advert to make it more humorous to viewers as it sings in the advert. This draws viewers in to carry on watching the advert. 

 

Setting/ Location- The advert looks as if it has been shot somewhere hot, America for example.

 

Target Market- The advert will be aimed at car users, this would mean 17 plus. The advert seems as if they are trying to market to a younger market by making the car seem as if its trendy.

 

Camera Work- Starts off with a long shot to show the location and setting that the advert is in. Also the long shot has been done to show the new car and the old car, this is to make you compare both cars. The camera then zooms in to a long shot of just the car, this is to show what the advert is trying to sell. A close up is used on the women in the new car to show her first impression of the old car, this shows the old car as bad. Medium shots of the inside of the old car to show the old gadgets and showing them to be unreliable and breaking. To show how the new car differs from the old car it has a close of of the new gadgets in the new car to show how it has new, easy technology. At the end of the advert it zooms in to just the new car in the frame.

Sounds- Non- diegetic sound is used for the song used and the animated man rapping.

Editing- Animation was used for the rapper character and also the gadgets shown on the old fashioned car.
